Corporate Holiday Party Invitation by starstreamdesign

So Zazzle's having this contest on FB where Zazzlers get the chance to design their holiday party invitation. Now, their holiday party is going to be in January because they're just too damn busy to have it in December. I said I wouldn't do it because in my eyes, its a bit of a popularity contest and frankly, I've never been that popular. I have never entered any Zazzle contests (and they've had quite a few), because there's always so much competition and some incredible designs, I figured I'd never come close to winning. So in the week that the contest had been open, I keep seeing people voting on there. And I see it in my FB feeds all day long. So I said to myself, why not throw my hat in. There's no way I'd win 'cause I'm not going to ask people to add the application, but for my own sake and the ability to say to myself that I entered, I did it.

Having said all that, here is my entry. I always try to keep holiday party invitations non-holiday specific because there's just too many people celebrating all different types of holidays, not just Christmas. With that, I hope you all have a very merry Christmas and a Happy New Year filled with happiness and prosperity.

So we're coming onto Christmas. New Year's Eve is right around the corner. I just end up sleeping through New Years most of the time. Maybe I'll end up going to some fabulous party one of these days.

So on that note, here's an invitation from one of my New Years product lines.

The same old story

Once upon a time, I was a computer genius. This, mind you, was in the days where people were still sending out for type set into galleys. On receipt, they'd paste them up (yes, by hand) into a layout adding stats of illustrations. I, however, was one of the few who knew her way around a computer. These were the Macintosh glory days and I could take apart a Mac in no time, set it up and/or fix any problem. This was unusual because I was trained as a painter and graphic artist.

Aadd on a few decades and things have advanced so much that its impossible to keep up.

Why am I telling this story? Well, it all comes down to my inability to understand the blogosphere. Which is why I haven't posted here in ages. There's also that little issue where Blogger is deleting many of my fellow Zazzlers blogs due to "possibly spamming". So I've been a little gun-shy about coming back.

So, on that note. I'm gonna be posting a few things I've done and hopefully have something interesting to say about them.

Been doing a lot of holiday products lately. Gotta get ready for the season even though its not even the middle of August! I've started doing some gift tags which are great for attaching to any gift. The back of this one has a spot where you can handwrite your name and the recipient's name.
